How to Apply for Vacancies at International Medical Corps

Applications for IMC roles are handled strictly through its official careers portal. The process is structured and competitive, so attention to detail matters.

    1. Visit the official careers page
Search for “International Medical Corps careers” and access the vacancies section.
    2. Filter roles by location and expertise
Roles are categorised by country, department, and job type, including field positions and headquarters roles.
    3. Create an online profile
You will need to register, upload your CV, and complete your professional profile.
    4. Submit a tailored application
Each role requires a customised CV and, in many cases, a cover letter aligned with humanitarian experience.
    5. Complete assessments and interviews
Shortlisted candidates may undergo technical assessments, followed by competency-based interviews.
    6. Background checks and onboarding
Due to the nature of humanitarian work, verification and compliance checks are standard before final offers.

    Pro Tips:

Most applicants focus only on qualifications, but IMC screens heavily for contextual experience. This means your ability to work in unstable, resource-limited environments matters as much as your degree.

    • Show field adaptability, not just experience
Instead of stating “worked in a hospital”, specify if you handled emergency response, disease outbreaks, or low-resource settings.
    • Mirror the job description language
IMC uses competency-based hiring, so align your CV wording with the exact skills listed in the vacancy.

Vacancies at International Medical Corps (IMC) are not just jobs, they are career paths built around impact, resilience, and global relevance. If you have the right mix of expertise, adaptability, and purpose, IMC offers a platform to work at the frontlines of humanitarian response while building a globally respected career. The key is not just applying, but applying strategically.
