Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), or Doctors Without Borders, was founded in 1971 by a group of French doctors and journalists who sought to provide independent, impartial medical assistance to people affected by conflict, epidemics, natural disasters, or exclusion from healthcare. Today, MSF operates in more than 70 countries, delivering lifesaving services—from emergency surgery and epidemic response to maternal care and mental-health support. Their work has earned global recognition for both medical innovation in crisis zones and their unwavering advocacy for vulnerable populations. For professionals drawn to high-impact humanitarian work, MSF offers a rare opportunity to apply their expertise where it is needed most, guided by principles of neutrality, independence, and medical ethics.
