    IFS is recruiting to fill the following positions:

    Group HR Manager

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    Develop and implement regional HR strategies aligned with corporate objectives.

    Ensure compliance with local labour laws, immigration policies, and industry regulations.

    Standardise HR policies, SOPs, and best practices across all countries.

    Monitor HR risks and implement mitigation strategies.

    Oversee payroll administration for 7+ African countries, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

    Manage expatriate payroll, tax, and immigration compliance.

    Ensure timely submission of statutory reports (tax, social security, labor filings).

    Maintain and audit employee records in accordance with legal and corporate standards.

    Lead recruitment and onboarding on HR operational sites

    In partnership with Group Talent Manager drive succession planning for key roles.

    In partnership with Group Talent Manager implement performance management and career development frameworks and drive leadership development

    Foster and implement employee engagement initiatives.

    Analyse workforce trends and recommend strategic interventions.

    Required Qualifications and Experience:

    • Education
      Bachelor’s, Honours or Master’s degree in HR Management, Business Administration, or related field.
    • Certifications
      HR professional certification (e.g., SHRM, CIPD) is advantageous.
    • Experience
      A minimum of 7-8 years in HR leadership, with at least 5 years in a multi-country HR role.
      Proven track record in payroll management, compliance, and HR governance.
      Experience in Sub-Saharan Africa’s labour laws and workforce dynamics.
    • Stores Supervisor

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Supervise the receipt, issuing and disposal of stores stock in accordance with company procedures at all times.
    • Ensure correct and timely completion of delivery notes and requisitions by the stores assistant(s). 
    • Supervise all new stock take ons and ensure that bins are allocated for these new stores.
    • Initiate the ordering of replacement stock when minimum stock levels have been reached.
    • Organise inventory to facilitate accessibility and safety for those working in the store.
    • Proactively identify and report on overstocking, under-stocking or out-of-stock scenarios and resolve promptly.
    • Perform the functions of the Stores Controller when/if he/she is on rotation or leave.
    • Safeguard the stock in the stores at all times by ensuring that there are adequate security systems in place. 
    • Ensure health and safety compliance at all times.
    • Supervise the activities of the team to ensure key performance targets are met.

    Required Qualifications and Skills:

    • Diploma or at least one-year certificate in Warehouse Management
    • 5 years of relevant experience in a store or warehouse environment with 2 years in a supervisory or team leader role.

    Stores Controller

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Control the receipt, issuance and disposal of stock in accordance with Company procedures at all times.
    • Take responsibility for the physical condition of the stores and ensure the appropriate standards are maintained.
    • Complete delivery notes and SORs and ensure the documents are forwarded to the appropriate component/manager.
    • Control the processing of all new stock take-ons and ensure that bins are allocated for these new stores.
    • Monitor the stock and inventory levels in the store at all times, including current stock levels and complete SOR’s for stock reaching minimum levels.
    • Ensure minimum and maximum stock thresholds are maintained at all times.
    • Organise inventory to facilitate accessibility and safety for those working in the store.
    • Conduct regular stock takes to ensure reconciliation between records and actuals.
    • Conduct regular spot checks and ensure that system and actual stock levels balance.
    • Prepare and provide monthly inventory reports as deemed required by management. 
    • In conjunction with the production team, identify and incorporate slow-moving stock in menu planning to prevent excessive stock levels.
    • Ensure that the stores are secure at all times. 
    • Enforce health and safety rules at all times

    Required Qualifications and Skills:

    • Diploma or at least one-year certificate in stock or warehouse management
    • 6 years of relevant experience in a store or warehouse environment with at least 2 in a supervisor role.
    • Butcher

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Butchery Operations: Cut and prepare meats to menu specification.
    • Receive, inspect and store meat upon delivery.
    • Store meats in refrigerators or freezers at the required temperature.
    • Within the area of responsibility, ensure the kitchen and related operations comply with all relevant health,
    • Safety and environmental requirements.
    • Ensure that hygiene standards are maintained in accordance with SOP’s.
    • Take ownership and accountability for tasks and activities and demonstrate effective self-management in terms of planning and prioritising, and self-development.
    • Follow through to ensure that quality and productivity standards of work are consistently and accurately maintained.

    Required Qualifications and Skills:

    • Grade 12
    • Minimum of 3 years’ hands-on butchery experience in a high-volume food service operation.
    • Baker

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Weigh and measure ingredients.
    • Apply glazes, icings, or other toppings to baked goods, using spatulas or brushes.
    • Check the cleanliness of equipment and premises before production to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and standards.
    • Check the quality of raw materials to ensure that standards and specifications are met.
    • Combine measured ingredients in bowls of mixing, blending, or cooking machinery.
    • Coordinate the forming, loading, baking, unloading, de-panning and cooling of batches of bread, rolls, pastry and confectionary products.
    • Bake bread, cakes, biscuits, pastries, pies and other flour products.
    • Monitor oven temperatures and product appearance to determine baking times.
    • Within the area of responsibility, ensure the kitchen and its operations comply with all relevant health, safety and environmental requirements.

    Required Qualifications and Skills:

    • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
    • A tertiary qualification in cookery would be preferable.
    • 3 to 5 years’ experience as a baker or confectioner.
    • Pastry Chef

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Create, prepare and plan all pastries, desserts and breads according to menus.
    • Organize and set up dessert buffets and stations.
    • Prepare bakery products and ensure that production is to the highest standards.
    • Record and monitor all wastage from the bakery.
    • Lead the quality of all food items prepared in the pastry operations, constantly checking for taste, temperature and visual appeal.
    • Participate in menu preparation and developing of recipes.
    • Ensure all dishes are served at correct portion size, quality and temperature.
    • Ensure receipt and safe storage of deliveries.

    Required Qualifications and Skills:

    • Recognised qualification in specialised bakery and pastry
    • Minimum of 6 years of bakery and pastry experience in an industrial kitchen.
    • Supply Planner

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Forecast Process Management
      • Analyse the input from the operational site team on their stock request.
      • Create the weekly stock consumption forecast for an agreed horizon, using the site request, planned events, logistics lead times and history as inputs and consumption.
      • Communicate with department heads regarding the forecast on a monthly basis.
      • Ensure both the site operational team and the corporate office supply chain team work off one set of numbers as the forecast gets actioned.
      • Work with Finance to enable a “cash up” of the forecast (if required).
    • Planning
      • Create a weekly call off schedule per supplier and communicate this schedule with suppliers to ensure early warning of supply constraints.
      • Get input from the operational sites on weekly stock take results.
      • Calculate the weekly stock position for the agreed horizon, communicating any shortages or overstock positions to both the site operational team and the supply chain corporate office team.
      • Implement contingency measures when deviation to the stock targets are predicted, including switching on alternative sourcing, agreeing with the site on deviations to consumption forecast and expediting logistics arrangements.
    • Required Knowledge and Qualifications:

      • Degree/ Diploma/ Certificate in Supply Chain/Procurement/Commerce or related field
      • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in FMCG planning or procurement environment
      • Drivers licence
      • Willing to travel.
