The University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) is one of Nigeria’s oldest and most prestigious federal universities. Founded by the late Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe, UNN was built on the vision of fostering academic excellence and national development. It holds the distinction of being the first indigenous university in Nigeria, modelled after the American educational system, which was a significant departure from the British style that dominated at the time.
UNN has grown into a multi-campus institution with its main campus in Nsukka, Enugu State, and other campuses in Enugu, Ituku-Ozalla, and Aba. Over the decades, the university has earned a sterling reputation not only in Nigeria but across Africa for its academic strength, cutting-edge research, and vibrant intellectual community. With over 100 departments and tens of thousands of students, it remains a beacon of knowledge and innovation.
Now, in a bid to further strengthen its academic and administrative workforce, the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, is conducting a major recruitment drive, an opportunity for qualified Nigerians to join a prestigious institution dedicated to shaping the future. This recruitment exercise aims to fill key academic and non-academic positions across several faculties, departments, and units.
As part of its commitment to improving service delivery, UNN is expanding its staff capacity to meet the growing demands of higher education and to sustain its status as a global institution. While the full list of available roles is provided on the official UNN recruitment portal, here are some of the notable positions currently open:
