Furthermore, MTN ensures flexibility by allowing blind students to apply from any field of study, making it one of the most inclusive scholarship programs in Nigeria. For blind law students, the program extends to 300-level students to accommodate the longer duration of their course.

The MTN Foundation offers annual scholarships to high-performing Nigerian students through three main programs:

MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (MTN STS): Established in 2010, this scholarship is open to eligible 300-level students studying science and technology-related courses in Nigerian public tertiary institutions, including universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education. Each year, 300 students are awarded scholarships worth ₦300,000, renewable annually until graduation, provided they maintain the required academic standards.
MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (MTN SBS): Since 2012, this program has targeted eligible 200 and 300-level blind students studying any course in Nigerian public tertiary institutions. Annually, 100 scholarships are awarded, each valued at ₦300,000, renewable until graduation upon meeting the necessary academic criteria.
Top 10 UTME Scholarship: Initiated in 2020, this scholarship automatically recognises the top 10 scoring candidates of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) as announced by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). Recipients are awarded ₦300,000 annually from their 100 level through graduation, regardless of their chosen course of study or institution, public or private, in Nigeria.

Eligibility Criteria

- Institution of Study: Applicants must be students in Nigerian public tertiary institutions (universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education).
  
  Course of Study:

- - For MTN STS: Open to 300-level students studying science, technology, Engineering, and Mathematics related courses (STEM)
  - For MTN SBS: Open to 200 and 300-level blind students studying any course.
    
    Level of Study:
    - MTN STS: Applicants should have completed their second-semester 200-level examinations and be progressing to 300 level. Due to variations in academic calendars across institutions, current 300-level students are also eligible.
    - MTN SBS: Open to 200 and 300-level blind students. For blind students studying Law (a 5-year course), only 300-level students can apply.
      Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA):
      
      MTN STS:
      - University and College of Education students must have a minimum CGPA of 3.0/4 or 3.5/5 (second class upper).
      - Polytechnic students should have a minimum CGPA of 3.0 (upper credit) from their Ordinary National Diploma (OND) program and must have secured admission into the Higher National Diploma (HND) program.
      - Direct Entry students must have a minimum CGPA of 3.0 (upper credit) from the OND program and have secured admission into 300 level in a public university.

MTN SBS:

University or College of Education students must have a minimum CGPA of 2.5.
Polytechnic students should have a minimum CGPA of 2.0 from their OND program and must have secured admission into the HND program.
