The University of Dundee is a public research university located in Dundee, Scotland, United Kingdom. Founded in 1881, the institution has developed a strong reputation for academic quality, research excellence, and student satisfaction. It is recognised internationally for teaching and research in areas such as life sciences, medicine, law, business, engineering, computing, and the social sciences.

Dundee operates as a student-centred university with a strong focus on employability, innovation, and global engagement. The institution welcomes students from over 140 countries, making it a diverse and inclusive academic environment. As part of its commitment to attracting high-achieving international students, the University of Dundee offers several merit-based scholarships, including the Global Excellence Scholarship.

What Is the Dundee Global Excellence Scholarship 2026?

The Dundee Global Excellence Scholarship 2026 is a merit-based tuition fee reduction awarded to outstanding international students who have received an offer to study a full-time, on-campus undergraduate or postgraduate taught programme at the University of Dundee.

The scholarship is designed to reward strong academic achievement and to help reduce the financial cost of studying in the United Kingdom. It is not a cash award. Instead, the scholarship is applied directly to a student’s tuition fees.

Eligible students starting their studies in either January 2026 or September 2026 may be considered for this award, provided all academic and admission conditions are met.

Who Is Eligible for the Dundee Global Excellence Scholarship?

International students are eligible for the Dundee Global Excellence Scholarship, provided they meet the university’s official criteria.

To qualify, applicants must meet all of the following requirements.

    2. International Fee Status

Applicants must be classified as international fee-paying students in their official offer letter from the university.

    3. Academic Requirements

Academic performance is the key selection factor.

    4. Eligible country

You must be from one of the eligible countries listed for this scholarship

      • Undergraduate Admission Requirements:

        • Have achieved a UK AAB at A Level (or above) or equivalent to this level at the discretion of the University.
      • Postgraduate Admission Requirements:
        • Hold an academic offer of entry for a postgraduate taught program in any of our academic schools, beginning in September 2025 or January 2026. The program must be a full-time, 180-credit, 12-month program.

        • Have achieved either a UK 1st Class Honours degree or a degree considered as equivalent to this level at the discretion of the University

The University of Dundee determines how international qualifications compare to UK standards, and its decision on equivalency is final.

    4. Eligible Start Dates

Applicants must be starting their course in either January 2026 or September 2026, depending on the programme’s intake.

    • PhD and other doctoral research programmes

    • Distance learning or online-only programmes

    • Part-time courses

Applicants should always confirm that their chosen programme is eligible before relying on the scholarship for financial planning.

    How Long the Scholarship Lasts

    • For undergraduate students, the scholarship may be applied for each year of study, subject to continued academic progression and compliance with university regulations.

    • For postgraduate taught students, the scholarship is typically applied for the full duration of the programme.

Failure to meet academic progression requirements may result in the scholarship not being continued.

How to Apply for the Dundee Global Excellence Scholarship 2026

    1. You must apply first to the university to get an offer.
    2. Once you have submitted your course application and have been made an offer of entry to the University of Dundee, whether conditional or unconditional, the university will notify you via email if you are eligible for the award. You will not be able to submit a scholarship application without being made an offer.

Note: If the university invites you to apply, then the scholarship application link will be sent via email for you to complete. The university will notify you about the decision within 8 weeks of receiving your application.

    Application Process

    1. Apply for admission to an eligible undergraduate or postgraduate taught programme at the University of Dundee.

    2. Receive an official offer confirming your programme and international fee status.

    3. Submit all required academic documents, including transcripts and certificates.

    4. The admissions team automatically assesses eligible applicants for the Global Excellence Scholarship based on academic merit.

If you meet the criteria, the scholarship will be included in your offer or communicated separately by the university.

    Important Deadlines to Note

Scholarship consideration is tied closely to course application deadlines. Applicants who submit their course applications late may miss out on scholarship assessment, even if they meet the academic requirements.

    Deadlines vary depending on:

    • Programme

    • Intake month

    • Availability of places

Applying early improves your chances of being assessed for the scholarship.

    Pro Tips

    • Apply for your course as early as possible to allow enough time for document review.

    • Ensure your academic transcripts clearly show final or predicted grades.

    • Confirm your international fee status in your offer letter.

    • Monitor your applicant portal and email for requests from the admissions team.

    • Do not assume eligibility if your course or study mode is excluded.

The Dundee Global Excellence Scholarship 2026 is a valuable opportunity for high-achieving international students to reduce the cost of studying at a respected UK university. While competitive, the scholarship rewards academic excellence and is automatically assessed alongside your course application.

If you are planning to study at the University of Dundee in 2026, take time to prepare a strong academic application and submit all required documents early.

To apply or confirm the most up-to-date requirements, visit the official University of Dundee website and review the Global Excellence Scholarship information before submitting your application.
