Healthcare Assistant
Job responsibilities:
- Responding to the needs of patients in an honest, non-judgemental, and open manner, which respects the rights of individuals and groups

Substance Misuse Practitioner
Job responsibilities:
- To provide specialist substance misuse care to offenders and to work as part of an integrated and multidisciplinary health service, which may include in-reach services, reception duties, resource centre services, dual diagnosis management and primary care nursing.
- To deliver a range of specialist interventions at the primary and secondary care levels.
- To contribute to alternatives to the need for inpatient admission and, where necessary, assist with early discharge from inpatient services through the implementation of substance misuse management clinical interventions and complex case management arrangements, resulting in continuity of care for an offender in an ordinary location.
- To perform robust assessment, screening and interventions to offenders with substance misuse concerns
- Ensure that all waiting time, assessment and interventions are delivered in a timely manner and positively contribute to the achievement of the services’ performance targets.
Qualifications:

Senior Nurse
Job responsibilities:
As a senior registered nurse, you will provide high-quality primary care services and a range of specialist interventions for offenders. At HMP Erlestoke, we deliver a nurse-led integrated primary care service and operate a specialist practice-based clinical model of care.
You will be delivering high-quality clinical care within the Integrated Healthcare Service for the prison, demonstrating robust expert clinical skills and providing evidence-based nursing practice to those in prison.
Our senior registered nurses carry out a range of duties, including reception screening, emergency response, long-term conditions management, planned care (e.g. running clinics), enhanced assessment and diagnostic intervention services and health promotion activities.
As a senior member of our team, you will hold a complex caseload and support more junior colleagues with any help or advice they may require. You will also be responsible for the day-to-day co-ordination of the healthcare team and provide clinical supervision to junior team members, including band 5 nurses, healthcare assistants and students.
Qualifications:
- RGN
- Postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience
- Experience of setting, monitoring and evaluating standards of care.
- Experience of multi-professional collaboration including working in partnership with other statutory and voluntary organisations

Prison/Secure setting experience
Mental Health Practitioner
Job responsibilities:
- To perform robust assessment, screening, and interventions to service users with mental health and neurodevelopmental and trauma needs.
- Ensure that all waiting time, assessment and interventions are delivered in a timely manner and positively contribute to the achievement of the service’s performance targets.
- Ensure integrated and collaborative working with other specialist services, including continuity of care and through-the-gate arrangements and liaison.
- Work closely with community mental health teams (CMHTs) to ensure appropriate sharing of information, continuity of care and the Care Programme Approach (CPA) for all service users where necessary.
- To provide comprehensive and timely reports and mental health expertise to multi-agency public protection panels (MAPPA), police, probation services, solicitors and court liaison teams as directed.
Qualifications:
- Diploma level/degree in a relevant health/social care profession, eg RMN, RLDN, OT, or social worker.
- Current relevant registration with the NMC or HCPC
- Desirable relevant, post-registration training in one of the following areas: Learning disability Personality disorder Substance misuse/dual diagnosis Psychological therapies
- Two years substantive post-registration experience gained working in a range of frontline adult mental health services, undertaking assessment and delivering interventions.
Bank Nursing Associate – HMP Erlestoke
Job responsibilities:
- Implement care packages or programmes in a range of settings under the supervision of registered clinical practitioners or as part of a multi-professional/multi-agency team.
Carry out specific care duties for patients, as delegated by a registered nurse or other relevant professional.
Monitor and contribute to care delivery and escalate any concerns.
Be guided by standard operating procedures (SOPs), good practice and established precedents, and understand what results or standards are to be achieved.
Follow procedures and treatment plans, being the first point of contact for enquiries, using their own initiative but working under the supervision of a registered practitioner.
Qualifications:

- To manage, appraise and give professional supervision to junior medical staff as agreed between consultant colleagues and the medical director and in accordance with the Trust’s personnel policies and procedures.

parameters of the New Deal and are Working Time Directive compliant. - To undertake the administrative duties associated with the care of patients.
