BHRUT, Barking, Havering, and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust is one of the largest acute NHS trusts in the UK, serving a diverse population of approximately 750,000 people across East London and Essex. The Trust operates two main hospitals: Queen’s Hospital in Romford and King George Hospital in Goodmayes, along with several satellite sites. As a teaching trust, BHRUT is affiliated with leading academic institutions, including Queen Mary University of London, and is a member of UCLPartners, one of the world’s leading academic health science partnerships.

BHRUT offers a comprehensive range of services, including emergency care, surgery, maternity, cancer care, and specialised services such as neurosurgery and cardiology. The Trust has been at the forefront of implementing innovative solutions to improve patient care and reduce waiting times. For instance, during the COVID-19 pandemic, BHRUT established a dedicated elective hub at King George Hospital to minimise cancellations and ensure timely surgeries. This initiative led to a significant reduction in the number of patients waiting over a year for treatment.

The Trust is also committed to staff wellbeing, offering flexible working options, extensive health and wellbeing programs, and opportunities for professional development. Employees have access to various fitness initiatives, complementary therapies, and mental health support services.
