    Founded in 1951 and now part of the United Nations system, IOM is the leading intergovernmental organisation in the field of migration. With offices in over 100 countries, IOM works to ensure humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all.

    Their work spans emergency response, human trafficking prevention, migrant reintegration, border management, and policy advocacy. From rescuing migrants in distress to rebuilding communities after conflict or disaster, IOM’s mission touches millions of lives every year.

    In Nigeria, IOM has been actively supporting the government and local communities in areas such as counter-trafficking, voluntary return and reintegration, mental health support, and emergency response for displaced persons.

    IOM is currently recruiting across various departments and countries, including Nigeria. Whether you have experience in project management, public health, migration law, finance, administration, or even data analysis, there’s likely a role that fits your skills and aspirations. And beyond the job title, working with IOM means contributing directly to improving the lives of migrants, displaced persons, and communities in crisis.

    Here are some of the latest roles open at the time of writing. Please note that positions vary by location and deadline:

    Caregiver – Patra, Greece

    Responsibilities

    1. Assist in the daily operations of the center, according to the instructions and suggestions of the shelter coordinator and the scientific responsible.
    2. Ensure the implementation of the individual daily program of the beneficiaries in collaboration with the social worker; escort children to social and/or medical services when necessary.
    3. Provide guidance and support to beneficiaries in maintaining rules of personal hygiene, cleanliness and home economy.
    4. Update the coordinator about the adequacy of all necessary materials (personal hygiene items, clothing, footwear, clothing, stationery) and take care of their timely replenishment, receipt, storage, and maintenance.

     

    Qualifications

    • High school degree in Greece or proven attendance at a foreign school
    • Experience or training in a subject relevant to child protection, protection of unaccompanied minors, vulnerability management, reception of applicants for international protection or integration of recognized beneficiaries of international protection
    • Familiar with direct assistance to migrants and/or refugees and particularly with children;
    • Previous experience in a similar role preferred;
    • Experience with diverse populations and cultural sensitivity;

     

    1. Regional Supply Chain Associate – Cairo, Egypt

      Responsibilities

      1. Conduct regular market surveys and identify reliable suppliers in the Regional Office.
      2. Monitor and coordinate all multifunctional logistics requirements for Regional Office.
      3. Monitor compliance of procurement activities with IOM Field Procurement Manual, Financial Rules and Regulations, relevant Organisational Policies, and donor regulations (when required).
      4. Assist in transactional procurement, including tendering processes, evaluation, contracting, payment conditions, and performance evaluation.
      5. Prepare monthly reports to the Regional SC and Procurement Officer and Senior management on procurement activities and implementation status.

       

    2. Qualifications

      • University degree in Procurement, Business Administration, Project Management or related filed from accredited academic institution with 3 years of relevant professional experience, or
      • Completed high school degree from an accredited academic institution with 5 years of relevant professional experience.
      • Professional experience with specific focus on local/international procurement, clearing & forwarding, VAT.
      • fleet management experience and insurance management
      • Experience in inventory/stock/supplies management.

       

    3. Finance Officer – Aden, Yemen

      Responsibilities

      1. Monitor and oversee the financial management of all activities, including the oversight of financial expenditures and accountability.
      2. Undertake preliminary financial analysis of programmes/projects implemented in the CO, monitor budget control processes, and follow up on the implementation of effective internal controls and the design and functioning of the financial resources management system.
      3. Provide technical support to the programme/project managers throughout the programme/project cycle to enable compliance with IOM’s policies and procedures and any donor-specific requirements.

       

    4. Qualifications

      • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited academic institution with five years of relevant professional experience; or
      • University degree in the above fields with seven years of relevant professional experience.
      • Professional certification as a Chartered Accountant (CA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), or Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) will be a distinct advantage.

       

    5. Project Assistant – Immigration & Border Governance – Pemba, Mozambique

      Responsibilities

      1. Assist in the day-to-day implementation and monitoring of IOM’s IBG/CEP project activities, with a focus on legal identity initiatives and community & engagement policing, among other responsibilities.
      2. Support administrative and clerical activities in the field in close collaboration with the Programme Officer, as well as the finance and procurement office.
      3. Provide assistance in planning and organizing activities, events, training and meetings.
      4. Liaise and coordinate with representatives of the national counterpart, community representatives and community groups, and implementing partners.
      5. Draft correspondence on project issues; prepare letters, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, presentations and other forms of documentation.

       

    6. Qualifications

      · Bachelor’s degree in political or social sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with three years of relevant professional experience; or,

      . School diploma with five years of relevant experience.

      · Previous experience working with government, international organizations, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) or Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in complex and changing environments.

      · Experience working with law enforcement or government institutions is highly desirable.

      · Experience supporting training and capacity building programmes, particularly for law enforcement, is desirable.

      Financial Compliance Associate – Washington, USA

      Responsibilities

      1. In coordination with National Financial Compliance Officer, support the periodic review of federal and other financial reports for US donor-funded projects.  Assist in verifying the accuracy of these reports prior to certification and submission.  Guide IOM field missions on the preparation of SF-425 federal form financial reports as appropriate.
      2. Assist in conducting spot checks on financial transactions under high-risk projects to identify noncompliance with donor terms and IOM policies. Support the formulation of practical recommendations to help reduce the risk of donor-disallowed costs
      3. Assist in reviewing budgets submitted by global IOM field offices for project proposals to US donor agencies. Provide inputs related to donor and internal compliance requirements and support the endorsement process within IOM’s project management system, PRIMA, in coordination with the National Financial Compliance Officer.

       

    7. Qualifications

      • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finances, or related field from an accredited academic institution with three years of relevant professional experience; or,
      • High School diploma with five years of relevant experience
      • Prior work experience with international humanitarian organisations or non-government or government institutions/organisations in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
      • Experience in SAP or ERP systems is a distinct advantage.

       

      • Intern (Migrant Protection Division – MPX) – Bangkok, Thailand

        Responsibilities

        1. Gather information on migrant protection issues, including prevention, direct assistance, voluntary return and reintegration, children on the move, alternatives to detention, and analyze these with a view to assist in the development of policy papers, presentations, and the elaboration and implementation of the Division’s strategic plan;
        2. Collect, track, and analyze migration and project data generated by IOM activities;
        3. Strengthen the region’s capacity to collect and report data on beneficiaries assisted;
        4. Provide support in developing and managing a reference library, and updating reference materials and tools for on-going Unit priorities

         

      • Qualifications

        • Opportunities in attending IOM internal migrant protection and counter trafficking related trainings/webinars provided by Migrant protection and Assistance Unit and professional development e-training sessions provided by the Staff Development and Learning Unit;
        • Extensive on the job learning about migrant protection and assistance projects to support migrants, displaced individuals, returnees, victims of trafficking and asylum seekers in Asia and the Pacific Region;
        • Gain extensive knowledge on migrant protection and other migration issues through the meetings, workshops and conferences organized in Bangkok.

         

      • Human Resources Associate – Valencia, Spain

        Responsibilities

        1. Support the planning and organization of learning initiatives managed by the Global Learning Centre by helping in assessing learning needs, drafting  concept papers, and contributing to the design and development of these learning initiatives.
        2. Support the delivery of learning initiatives by  providing logistical and administrative support in the preparation and implementation phases of learning initiatives. This includes, but is not limited to: arranging meetings, trainings and other events; providing logistical support, communicating with service providers; gathering cost comparison of hotel and event locations and determining the cost to be budgeted for the event; arranging transportation and coffee breaks, as needed; sending invites and follow-ups; coordinating promotional activities; shortlisting participants to a training, coordinating with service provider on availability and scheduling; opening and closing online or in-person training sessions.
        3. Support monitoring of learning initiatives by helping to collect data, develop and implement assessments, sending out post-learning and impact evaluation forms to participants.

         

      • Qualifications

        • University degree in Business Administration or a related field from an accredited academic institution with three years of relevant experience; or
        • Completed High school / Secondary school education with five years of relevant experience.
        • Project management certification is an advantage.
        • Kirkpatrick certification (at least Bronze) is an advantage.
        • Experience and knowledge in administrative procedures and work experience in administrative functions at the headquarters of a large international organization and in the field is an advantage.
        • Experience in facilitating and conducting trainings, both virtual and face-to-face.
